The First Post

Greetings all and thank you for stopping by "Sprinkled Donuts".  The blog takes its name from a sacred childhood memory of enjoying a glass of milk and a sprinkled donut with my father before he left for work.  I've blogged before, mostly under political sites but have decided to leave that avenue.  I guess one becomes tired of trying to "convince" people that your way is the "right way" and you just decide to keep your opinions to yourself.  For the longest time I've never understood why people chose not to discuss religion or politics and once I became older I found that I sought to discuss it less and less.  For some reason I became tired of arguing with people and just gave up to speak.  I think that's all there is to be said about that...

My intention for this blog is to make it a place to share some of my stories, my humor (I'd like to think I have some!), my recipes (trying to eat healthier) and maybe a few laughs along the way.  Occasionally I'll talk politics or other related "boring" stuff, but mostly it will just be a look into my life and what makes me tick.  Hopefully you find it interesting or at least learn something new when you visit.  I plan to "recycle" other posts from my older blogs on this site because all the content was generated by me and I feel that some of my previous postings have relevant information to share.  I will try and use original photographs whenever possible on the site however if I use a photo that is externally sourced I will most certainly give the creator their due recognition.

To introduce myself further, I am a graduate of the University of Delaware (Undergrad, 2008) and the University of Baltimore (Masters, 2012) and I am employed by the United States Government as a civilian worker.  I've been writings on blogs here and there since 2004.  My interests include some things mainstream and some very far from the beaten path.  I enjoy blogging (obviously), genealogy research, sports (hockey, baseball, football), reading (fiction mostly), Star Trek (yep, I'm one of THOSE people), Marvel Comics, video games, bowling, CNN, history, pets and old coin collecting.
